They have rules for using the computers in one of our public libraries.

My friend and I were working on a school project using the library's comp. A person said we had to sign in first, and before doing that we had to fill out a computer form that had a bunch of rules on it.

Rules:

- Do not bookmark any sites

- Downloading files is not permitted

- Use of E-mail is not permitted

- Chat rooms are not permitted

- Limit is 30 mins. If there is no one waiting to use the computer another 30 mins. may be added. People may use the computer for no more than one hour a day.

- Printouts cost 15 cents per page


Of course my friend and I saw a few problems with this. Our report was pretty urgent, and also no one else was in the library except for one person who was reading a book (there are 4 or 5 computers available)

My friend said "Hey It doesn't say people can't look up porn"
Then I said "Hey it also doesn't say anything about hacking"
"this is so stupid, they come up with gay rules that they don't enforce (librarians didn't really check us and we used the computer for 2 hours) and don't have sensible rules"

we can chek email, download, printin is free, no limit.. we can do anythin except for inapropriate sitez... like porn or violence or prfaniti type of sitez.. as long as yoo stay out of those sitez, itz all good..

Mine's even worse:

10 min limit
book first

and it's on a 56k modem networked between 4 computers, OMG it's slow as when Hell freezes over!!!!!! AHHHH!

wow...im in college and we have rules..

NO Game playing
NO downloads

But, we dont have time limit.

We use Net Novell, so i can disable those...of course the admin at college has extra sn to logg back in and correct them.

library comps suck........even skoo library comps are better n faster......but in skoo, if u get caught doin stuff u aint supposed to be doin, then........well........
