i used to pray everyday.

prayer makes you stronger in your walk with God everyday, getting to know the bible and himself more and more. real time prayers can last up to 1-3 hours or so if you really devote yourself, and sometimes you get so lost in your prayers you start speaking in a different tounge. ive seen it before... its kinda crazy, but you shouldn't doubt yourself when your praying.. or else it seems ur just talking to the wall. so yea, if u pray everyday it becomes easier and easier, therefore communication with God is a simple task. if you just started off... its gonna be an uphill battle, but itll be worth it in the end
