Womyn in today's world

Are they equal? Will they ever be equal? Will they dominate? Will they always be one-step below politically or whichever way? Respond...

hah, nah i meant womyn. I changed it back . It's a feminist spelling used to denote the autonomy of womyn in today's society. As in, the word "women" and "woman" is derivation of the root word, "man." the prefix "wo" comes from latin or something meaning "lesser" or is often thought of as to what it connotates at...the word "woe." So essentially, in a feminist mindset: calling a womyn a "woman" is calling her a different type of man, not her own being. Apparently (though i beg to differ), english is one of the only languages that use men as a root for the word women. Thus in english, being called a women is the same as being called a "woe of a man," or a "lesser man," which is certainly not its own unique sex...only a variation of a sex. Therefore, people use the spelling of womyn to establish their own sex not dependant upon men for their differentiation. Power through grammar apparenlty.

yeah, i think it's slightly absurd as well. I just find some enjoyment in spelling it that way. It's not that big of a deal to me cause i'm not that big of a feminist advocator...it's not as if i recheck my posts to make sure i spell women as womyn cause i don't care if i slip up for reasons i've stated. But of course it is to some.

Nah, I do not remember where i read it from, and i wasn't sure if it was from latin. Hence, i said "latin or something" as a guess. Maybe greek? I dunno.

Hmm... will womyn ever be equal??? Naw, I kinda doubt it... I mean, womyn are always like... "We want to be treated equal and with respect..." But when it comes to something bad... they get treated differently and they don't have to suffer as much as guys... I dunno how to explain that to you...

Another thing... In a lot of countries... womyn are still treated as a slave that can be bought. They're still second in all things in those countries... and why is that? Because those countries have strong beliefs in whatever they believe and nothing people do or say will change that...

I feel like I'm missing something... hmm...

i think the only problem/obstacle preventing womyn from becoming near equal or even dominant is outlined in the quote i have in my signature. I'll type it out again for all of you :

"Those womyn that seek equality with men, lack determination."

Lack determination, and effort. Try Harder, Expect Less, and continue working for it

Okai... I think that the only reason why womyn seem to not be equal is because they are weaker... People from ancient times brought them up to be the weaker sex... so people nowadays are still with that... iyah... I can't find the fricken words to explain what I'm trying to say...

and now womyn bring themselves up that way willingly and complain when they are treated the very way they brought themselves up. Traditionalist mindsets are of course a susbstantial aspect that holds back equality, but it's a lot more now especially because traditionalist views are being broken as we progress into the future.

If we are ever going to be as close to equal as we can get, womyn need to get rid of their comfort mindset that they like so much. Generalizing yes, but not without warrant. They need to stop treating themselves as the subservient sex, and then they can demand some credibility...but as of now it's not there entirely. A common instance, modern dating. Womyn want chivalry and want to be "treated right," but why aren't they concerned with treating their man right? See, it's the traditionalist mindset that womyn carry on just as much or more than men do. They don't pay for dates..? Thats a man's deal? Okay, continue to drive the very patriarchy you somehow try and defend with credibility, but with such hypocracy (speaking of course, if the person is an avid womyn's rights person).

One thing that needs to be ridden of, is the contradictory nature of feminism itself. Yeah, easier said than done. But they know it, and i know it. Selectively fighting a patriarchy in which they retain certain aspects they like is absurd, and again...far from credible. Womyn dress revealing only to complain about the ample stares they get from guys....uhh...isn't that partially why they were wearing them to get attention from guys and now they complain about too much attention? Deal with it, if a person dresses like that, they are the catalyst. Where is the responsibility.

Expect less, and work harder for equal rights. Don't sit back and complain about how things are now not doing anything about it. First the womyn need to abandon the subservient mentality if there is ever going to be any progression (in a matter of speaking that is).

Snowman, you are absolutely correct, and I agree with you. How can womyn ever be equal if they act the way that do? I personally like being the weaker sex... Why? Because I notice that people give more lack to the weaker sex... I can get away with things easier... my punishments aren't as bad...

that is so messed up. neone hu sez sumtin like that shud feel first-hand wut it's like to give birth to a baby and go thru all the physically-trying ordeals that women hav to experience which men hav no clue about (PMS is just the beginning )
i dun think womyn will ever be equal to men if onli bc men will alwaize be stronger. in the end, it cums down to physical strength. i dunno if womyn will even be able to make as much money as men do (i think that is totally unfair - but o well. life goes on and there's more to it than making money). also, if the roles of men and women as seen by society don't change, then their status won't either. womyn are still seen as caretakers of the home and hearth and men are typically portrayed as strong, stoic, unfeeling, and whose onli job is to protect the family and bring home money. if these ideas don't change, then womyn's status won't either.
~whew i think that wuz the most i've ever writtn here. hope that made sense~

It is impossible for anyone to be equal to another.

Women cannot not be equal physically, their bodies won't allow it. Mentally is just the like. I'm not saying all women should stay in the kitchen, but I am saying a woman that goes far enough to say things like "'Amen' should be changed to 'Awoman'" is an idiot! I say this even though I greatly respect women. Such ignorance gives me a headache.
