MLA format follows the rules of:
"whatever is in the quotation" (source, page number (if a text)).
so the period goes at the end of the sentence. If you had the period after the quotation and there was more to the sentence in teh way you integrated the quotation into the sentence, it would disrupt the flow of the sentence.
Long messages do not equal aggravation of any sort,
rather they reflect nothing more than a response of insight
that should always be read in a matter-of-fact tone.
