Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or
Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is a mental illness
just like Major Depression, Psychosis, Bipolar Disease, Schizophrenia or other delusional mental illness.
My older "sister", for example takes meds for PTSD, because sometimes the amount of stress that her body can no longer take makes her go into body shock, internal/external bleeding, mood revolutions, and flashbacks.
Usually, this is common to newlyweds who have gone into relapse because of too much child abuse from the past. Before becoming peaceful or secure and happy in a marriage, they are prone to their body breaking down first because of all the abuse that the person had to handle before becoming happier in life.
