The popular gayo show SBS Inky Gayo will not be showcasing its weekly music chart starting this week. This leaves the all live gayo show MBC Music Camp as the only network gayo program with a gayo chart. This came about after numerous complaints were filed about the unfairness of the ranking system. The notion was that it was tailored only for gasoos that appealed to the teen mass and that it promoted dance and lipsynching too much which are staples of the younger generation gasoos. KBS Music Bank got rid of their rankings in 2001 after similar complaints. ue to discontent about numerous ill effects stemming from the charts we will be getting rid of the rankings and plan on concentrating on introducing various genres and musicians instead,?said an Inky Gayo producer. Some people have blamed recent low album sales partly on gayo charts which tend to favor eenybopper?gasoos instead of more mainstream gasoos. Jang Nara nowman?beat Brown Eyes?ittle By Little?on January 26 for the last ever #1 spot on Inky Gayo. The new SBS Inky Gayo will debut on February 9 with new hosts. Ballad star Kang Ta (pictured on the left) will be replacing UN Kim Jung Hoon as the male MC while Kim Jung Hwa will step down for Japanese actress Yumin (pictured on the right) who will take over as the new female MC. Neither Inky Gayo nor Music Camp will be aired in the 1st week of February due to special Lunar New Year programs by SBS and MBC.

Follow up news: Starting on February 6 KBS Music Bank will also be featuring a new MC. Shinhwa Junjin will be replacing Rain as the new male host. Former SES member Shoo will stay on board and share the spotlight with Junjin for an SM MC duo at Music Bank.

Correction: Former SES member Eugene did not sign her new solo contract with Jang Nara Pure Entertainment but with GOD Sidus Entertainment. Eugene is also expected to have her share of acting done under Sidus who home to some of Koreanbest known actors. Sidus also houses gasoos such as Cha Tae Hyun and LUV.
