You probably mean, why aren't gays as accepted as lesbians? I'm sure gays would be as much accepted as lesbians if people accepted it. Know what I mean?

Nothing can be well accepted unless the people accept it. Basically, me, other people, and YOU have to understand that it's going to be here no matter if we like it or not... AND accept it.

society is not comfortable with each equally.

one word explains it all: patriarchy. Heterosexual men do not want to see men, and enjoy seeing women. It is not acceptance of the culture...it is a guise put over the same libido driven society as before to make it seem like we accept them more than we actually do.
