Universe...

u think there is nething more to the universe...? ever consider what is, or isnt, beyond the universe? is our "universe" a box within a box of a bigger universe (thing men in black movies....). IS there an edge to the universe...like a line where it just stops and beyond it is just......stuff?

apparently, according to science, the universe is continually expanding, stretching out or something

maybe it's a box, maybe it's a mobius toroid, maybe it's a sphere, maybe it's weirdly shaped.

yup yup... the universe is supposedly constantly expanding outwards... but what is it expanding into??? ooooh.. it's a *gasp* MYSTERY! --; there can't be a box because if there was a box that the universe is growing in, then there would be a limit. according to evolutionists, the universe started out as a small matter about the size of a period at the end of the sentence and BAM there goes the freakin Big Bang. some scientists also believe that the universe will collapse into intself and go back to that tiny matter the size of a period... then the Big Bang will happen all over again and the universe will grow again. this is the reason i don't like any of the theories of evolution.

i heard about a radical new theory where the unierse is actually now slowing down and no longer expanding. I remember something about graity between the galaxies having something to do with it... i'm pretty skeptical about this theory though...

no no, the universe isn't expanding into something that is a box, it is in fact a box in shape and is continually expanding as a box. There is no limit...The universe isn't inside some box, we're all saying it is some sort of shape and the popular choice seems to be a box, hmm interesting.

The big bang theory has many problems though. even if the universe expands evenly in a shape of a box, then wouldnt all matters be evenly distributed throughout the universe, instead of clumping in one area or being all over the place? so universe started with a big explosion that hurled matter and energy in all directions.. so if this is true, than how is the universe expanding in a shape of a box? Hubble observed that distant galaxies in every direction are going away from us at speeds proportional to their distance. The big bang concept was initially suggested because it explains why distant galaxies are traveling away from us at great speeds. Than we ask ourselves about the.. what's it.. the Thermodynamics Lawss? i think.. well the first one has to do with the Law Of Conservation of Matter (space, Time, matter, and energy), so wouldnt that mean tha theory of tha big bang be violating this law? since big bang is basicaly an explosion of everyting from nothingness? Then we got the violation of the 2nd law, the explosion/expansion of the universe is saying that this explosion started from nothing and created all this, but all other explosions documented never had anything to do with expansion, nothing but disorder and disarray.

The universe is something scientists need to look further into. we cant realli say whats true and whats not. everything i just said goes against the big bang theory, or proves it wrong in ways. Only thing i can say about the universe and what it is, how it started, and is there more is only God knows..

I'm not entirely sure about this, but after the universe "finishes" expanding, it's supposed to start constricting again... just a theory from scientists...

Also, there was an article in the newspaper, like 4 years back, stating that there was a study going on explaining that the universe was actually flat. I have no clue how they thought of this, but that's what they said....

Yeah.... I heard that too.... I think when it started expanding, scientists called it the "Big Bang" theory. But now they say it is slowing down. After it finishes expanding.... it will contract into one small point from which it began. Then the whole process starts over... expanding and contracting..... of course, this would take billions and billions of years...

no no, it's not that the universe will slowly stop expanding as if it is some phenomenon. The idea is that at some point the universe will reach what is called Critical Mass. The point at which the universe holds enough mass to inflict enough gravitational pull on itself so as to collapse it again. But, then again Stephen Hawking said this was impossible. And, i'd have to read more into a lot to be able to describe it in any more detail than that.
