the bike weighs about 600lbs dry...

and with a 1.3L 4stroke motor, puts out like 160bhp (I think.. this is from memory btw)

and does 0-60 in 2.4 seconds which (from memory again) is the same 0-60 as a lamborghini diablo.. which is a tin can with a 6L v12 in it.


and thats just stock. you can get turbo kits which can raise your hp to at least 250+

Hayabusa weighs 450 lbs and actually does 0 to 60 1 second faster than a Diablo or McLaren F1 :satisfy:. Also, a Turboed Hayabusa can push 450+ hp (power wheelies from a stop in 6th gear, completely undriveable) .

Also, a highside can be caused by a very powerful bike and a rider who hasn't developed their "throttle hand." As you pass the apex of the corner, you roll back on the throttle. On a powerful bike, an inexperienced (or overzealous) rider will give it too much throttle, or you will hit a rough patch and lose traction, causing the wheel to start spinning and sliding. The novice rider will freak out at their wheel sliding (instead of trying to "ride it out") and chop the throttle, causing the throttle to "snap" back in line, but the wheel won't stop there. The momentum will cause the wheel to continue travelling until it's up over your ass the bike throws you off. This can happen on small bikes too, but it's a lot harder to do.

On two occasions I have "saved" my bike from highsiding it by shifting my weight and giving it gas, so instead of being thrown of the tumbling bike, i just lifted the rear wheel and got shaken up. On many occasions I have felt the wheel starting a slide, so gave it more gas, and continued to corner. On one occasion I tried to give it a little gas to correct the slide but felt the wheel starting to "snap" back, so I gave it even more gas, and laid the bike down instead, which is a fine alternative to getting thrown off.

Yeah, currently... Usually it's a big war between manufacturers about top speeds. Right now the war is between Suzuki with the Hayabusa and Kawasaki with the ZX12R (before that it was Honda with the 1100XX). Both bikes claim top speeds in excess of 200mph, but for some reason you never really see reliable magazine/website tests of the bikes. Also, the CBR900RR is a very very good bike. Very reliable, very fast, handles really well, lots of aftermarket (plus squid/ricey parts if you're into that) parts available, and it's so popular that you'll always find used parts for it when you dump it in the wal-mart parking lot. It is too big for a first bike though, but if you want something cheap, reliable, very fast and fun after you've been riding 6-12 months, get the 900RR (or the 929RR if you have the money, but I haven't heard that many good things about the 954RR).

i can tell the only mods he did to his bike were a new exhaust from D&D racing parts or something like that and new brake calipers and pads for nissin. and my other neighbor a couple houses down keeps old harleys and those sport touring bikes. the big ones with room in the back for a second person and places to keep ur stuff. but he does have an old mini cooper and some dirt bikes that he said he would sell.

Gross. Never EVER buy a D&D exhaust, they look, perform and sound like shit and are built terribly. Actually, if you get a bike, don't even replace the pipe. Contrary to what those guys with oakleys and sandals say, putting a new exhaust will not make your bike faster or run better. In fact, if you just install the exhaust and leave it, it will run terrible. The only way to get gains from an exhaust system is to tune the bike's carbs or FI to go with it and even then, the horsepower you gain will be at the top of the revs, where you don't need it (and you'll be losing power at the bottom). My suggestion if you get a stock bike (which is best) would be to leave the stock exhaust, maybe putting on a slip-on muffler if you like the sound (but remember that only expensive high quality exhausts like Yoshi or Akprovac will even sound decent and those cheap loud pipes are hella obnoxious), then get the stock bike rejetted/fuel programmed. Factories have bikes leaving the shop really lean to pass emissions so there's a little of power and steadiness to be gained from jetting a stock bike.

Im answering for Johnny. -_-; I know him too well. Arai makes really nice helments. Basic ones start around $300 dollars, just as safe. But the nicer more ventlated and lighter, plus cooler designs come in at around $600ish-$700ish. If you just going to do some moderated street riding. A Leather Jacket will do, but if your going to do lots of street riding, I'd recomend Full Leathers. If you high side or something like that you and get tossed and dragged a couple hundred feet, a leather jacket might save your upper body, but jeans are really think and there goes your legs. Bits and pieces of small rocks, glass with be inbedded into your skin. So you see why Full Leathers, or Jacket and Leather pants will do. I rather sweat my butt off then have a nasty fight with the road. The Road aways wins.
