who would you rather date/marry

would rather date/marry a friend that you've known since childhood..

or..

that "new person" that walked into your life along the way?

hm. before you decide..

benefits of being with a childhood friend:
- you'll know themselves probably even better than they know themselves.. so you'll know what'll be happening between you two..

dis-benefits
- you might get bored with them since you know..

and vice versa with the "new person" cause you wont know them, and/or what they might do .. but benefits are, they'll bring something NEW and SHOCKING events into your life.. and spice thigs up..

so who do you choose?

I choose childhood friend

i think there are more benefits and other mal effects of both that you did not list. everyone think about each before just replying about new and different vs. old and long knowing.

hmm i dunno, cuz with someone u kno for a long time b4 .. its like so many more other feelings too .. like i dunno how to explain it but friendships and realtionship relationships are different and if u combine the two u might end up with nothin .. not a good friend or a good bf/gf .. so id have to say that new person that walked into my life .. i would rather date and then in the future marry if i find out their right for me or not

i think making the decision of who you would take over another as of now would be blind, naive, and ultimately unwise.

why? explain.

i think its the same as people having their "ideal guy/girl" ..
how is wanting for example.. a SMART guy.. and wanting a CHILDHOOD FRIEND different?

it is the same, and yes that is naive, and unwise as well.

saying you want a certain type of person in your life is like discriminating against the rest of society when you do not even know them and never will because you are foolish enough to shaft them.

but choosing a friend you have known for a long time over another person you do not know is picking one over another on the basis of what seems like mere security seems even more foolish because you will never know if the other person is smart or what you would like more in a person than the other. Locking out options is unwise when you do not know what they are, that is blind.

no answer?

If you KNEW you wouldn't have to chose... and if you had to chose... then you shouldn't really be marrying either. I guess marrage is never a sure thing but you can't always be regetting that you should have "picked" the other.

I couldn't tell you which i'd "chose" but hopefully ... if circumstances ever came to that... i hope i wouldn't have to chose and would ... "just know". It's not like i'd make a list (what ross did in friends? big mistake... note to self: destroy list) because...... yea that's just stupid. haha ehm... i think i lost my point.

lame. You think too little. ok, this is what you are doing, judging a book by its cover, does that make sense? do you do that? if so, why would you do that with people? it is just not smart.

doesnt everybody judge everybody?
arent you judging me also? .. saying i think too little, or saying judging isnt smart.. isnt that judging?

dont people have to judge in order to survive (or whatever)?

if you were a store owner hiring an employee, dont you judge them before you hire him or not?

haha not really.

when i judge you as thinking to little it came from your comment of putting thinking too much in a negative light. i would think you would not say somethign badly about something that you are, so it is simple deducton. more classification than anything else.

the difference between judging and doing what you did, is that you judge and then astray the respective judged. There is a difference between thinking and accepting, and thinking and acting so as to create personal pariahs that you never get to know as people. you make a value judgement, and then never give them a chance. that, is foolish. judging in essence is not the same thing, you clearly act upon your judgements. notice how i never said would not date/marry a person who i view in a negative light before getting to know them, you did.

if you wanted to, you could use something called a dictionary. It is not as if everytime i encounter a word i do not know i just say "ok, i have no idea" instead of taking 5 seconds out of my day to learn something new and look it up. It is not hard.

i do not care about winning. But, by you answering back what i said about you thinking to little - trying to counter - you began to go into the terrible negative world of "thinking too much" as you put it. Just saying if you did not realize.

that last statement, you're too good for me now, what did it mean? do i detect sarcasm? I am not sure what that comment meant.

i was saying that you are a stronger arguer than I am.. which makes you "better than me" (in arguing)..
