girls tend to talk a certain way, so it is easier to tell when someone is a female. Whether it be feminine colors, font, overuse of emoticons, or saying "how are you" instead of "what's up"...it is usually not a surprise when someone is female online. It emmanates outward usually.
If i find out it is a girl, sometimes i am more polite, sometimes not. Usually the latter.
