first, a preface, this is just to respond, cuz volcom's post seems directed at me.

I told those girls to leave me alone and to shut the hell up, does that make me as guilty as they are? I mean i guess it's pretty bad, to react, you know, when they tell you "you don't fucking belong" and "go back to china stupid chink" (yes these were little girls saying this).
Obviously at 9 years old, i didn't know any better to react that way and throw their shoes ( i just hope it wasn't those girls knowing any better, but it seems unexcusable). Even still, if someone were to insult one's race, sometimes it's just instinct to defend oneself, because for some people, their race and culture is something that defines them.
I know better now than i did before, and I've encountered many different instances of racism since then, and i do agree with you, their ignorance is probably bliss for them. Now i just ignore it, and forgive them, and perhaps correct them.

I get that all the time... Even more so cause I live in a city where it's like 70% Chinese 20% White and 10%Other...

Even Chinese people come up to me and start blabing in Chinese and I just stop and stare at them and tell them, I'm not Chinese. But they continue to talk in Chinese!

I've been through the "are you Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese....,"

I kinda got used to it though... I just tell them I'm Korean.
