Okay, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that some of these girls are pretty/borderline eating disorder thin.
I'm doing a project on current asian culture and i'm wondering if it's just the media that wants these girls to be thin or an old tradition or something of that kind.
If you have any info...please please reply.

okay... for one.... i can tell you it is NOT korean culture...


if you look at the traditional korean costume...."han bok" you can tell that showing the body wasn't a priority... actually i think they tried to HIDE it...giant poof dress... yea that really shows if you're skinny or not.. unlike japanese "kimonos"... those like... squeeze your middle section into your ribs....OUCH...haha


so it's not culture doing that to them.... it's just.... society... some how some where they got the idea that thin is beautiful? and then comes the "disorders".... "oh i'm not thin as this celebrity....i MUST be ugly/ not beautiful" .... or.... "hey look that's me in the mirror, fat ugly slob... look at me i'm disgusting!"


i think i can safely say it isn't culture...


you know what? those abnormally skinny girls... they're actually the weird ones.... power to the full figured women!!!...what i mean is.... you know those "model bodies".... where... long THIN legs... heck of skinny.... almost to the point (and crossing it in most cases) of disgusting...not the ones that are starving themselves to be thin.... the ones that already are.... the ones born like nasty skinny? apparently that's like 2% of the women population....i heard it's growing though... something in the...genes or sumthing....

I agree with that totally... I think I mentioned it somewhere too...

anyways, being thin and sexy has to do with society... anything that has to do with the entertainment field, find is more appealing to the eye if the person is thin... people see sexy thin women in entertainment, so they start to believe and see thin women as sexier and better looking... that's just the way it is... buh if ever society can change it to bigger girls (ex. Drew Barrymore) that'd be great... won't be in a long long time! I guess what I'm trying to say is that people make other people believe that being thin is the way to make it through the entertainment field, so the women lose weight to meet that expectation to make a living... me, I personally blame it on the entertainment area where people have to look absolutely 'perfect' in which every way...

I'm thin, but not the 5'6 90lbs thin.
The reason a camera can add weight is because the lense or whatever is not 3-D as in reality. So when you take a pic, the circumference of your upper arm, torso, whatever is made into a 2D form. uh...i don't think that made any sense but that's what my science teacher said.

Many gasoos are so thin such as baby vox's Kan Miyeon and Heejin. Also Fin.k.l's Sung Yuri and Lee Jin. I think S.E.S's shoo is really thin too. I wish i was thin like them....hehe
