Kpop rip off of Jpop/Cpop?

I was just roaming around the web with nothing to do, until I came across a message board. They were discussing what the difference between Kpop and Jpop was, and one person wrote that it was a rip off of Cpop and Jpop.

I was like . Maybe Jpop but definately not Cpop.
Everytime I hear Cpop it's just rip off's of Korean hits, like Brown Eyes', Already one year, a rip off off one of GOD's song, I heard a rip off of one of As one's songs... but i forgot the title.

Even when compared to Jpop, Korean songs are different... It's more closer to american music i think, and it doesn't sound as poppy (except that one song by shinvi on bestiz... omg) . That's one reason why i don't listen to Jpop... the voices of some Japanese singers really annoy the hell out of me, along with the tunes.

But then again, that's just what i think.

Each section of music has it's own qualities. But really...all of them are slight "rip offs" of what else...American music.

just have to step in here and share my views...
i think now days new singers from taiwan and hongkong are somewhat copying
korean pop music for a quick success..
but there are a lot of original artists that are still very popular in the chinese
music industry.
for example the old 4 gods of chinese music
Leon (now he's doing korean techno..but before..... )
Jacky Zhang
Andy liu
Arron Kwa

Also new sort of idol singers that write their own songs and lyrics
Leehom Wang
Jay Chow
Guang Liang etc etc
other singers who have their own style
Sun Yan Zi
Mo Wen Wei
Jeff Zhang
Xu Ru Yun
etc etc.....

but i always think the music industry is commercial industry.
when singers first starts out, they can't usually do the things they wanted to do
so after they gained some popularity, then their managers let them do their
original stuff....
it's sad that they have to start out that way, but it's the way it is because who doesn't look at their appearance before listening to their songs...

haha... good job yuki!

cpop rips off kpop music more... they don't use word per word thoe... its mostly like the theme of the music.

jpop and kpop are pretty similar... they both have the "pop-pish" feel.

there's obviously something different between jpop and kpop... i watched this documentary thing... about why chinese fans like kpop more than jpop... apparently... they think jpop is just kinda weird....i dunno like they like how the korean langauge lyrics mesh with the songs...

cpop....i'm sorry but rip off of everything to the extreme... you guys saw that.... chinese shinhwa... and then i saw some chinese s.e.s... they actually wanted to be the chinese version of ses.... except they couldn't sing and they were ugly (sorry....)

i'm not saying that kpop does not rip off stuff...cuz...lol that would be just the most ridiculous thing to say ever....

but just......BLAHHHH.....

how in the world is KPOP a rip off of CPOP?!?!?!? that is JUST STUPID...lol.....

rip off... copying.... .... deng i hate those words... wutever sounds good i'm gonna listen too..... you give a little... you take a little... that's how great things are created....

you can't possibly say that one person could invent something without using previously thought up ideas....

i agree wit u... but u know the real reason behind cpop ripping off kpop?? well the ever-so popular SM entertainment are actually the culprit. according to this website (http://smtown.com/smtown/news/2002_...on2002_eng.html) SM entertainment are the ones looking for "H.O.T. CHINA" and "S.E.S. CHINA." just go to the website... u'll see wat i'm talking abt. they are looking for chinese versions of popular korean groups.

First thing I have to say is that before you go calling everything a rip off, has ANYONE actually gone out to find out if the so called rip off is truely a rip off and not an offically licensed remake. All I see from most of these forums are the k/pop lot saying that the c/pop lot are a rip off but not actually finding out if it is actually offically licensed.

Some go to the extreme of saying why didn't my fave artist (eg. HOT, SES, so so) didn't get credited for it... most probably cause they didn't actually write the song. If I remember it rightly credit is only due to those who actually wrote the song and not the artists who just sings it.

Music is a big money making business anyhow and there's no exceptions. Most remakes are done so they can make as much profit as they can. How many of you lot out there can trully say that this HKPop is a rip off if so and so song. If it was a rip off why aint they getting sued for it? Why aint the music company that owns the rights going to the courts? So why is it that when a Western song gets made into a KPop song, it isn't called a rip off? Double standards...

To say that HKPop is a rip off from KPop without any proof of such doesn't justify anything. If the songs are truely a rip off then let them burn in hell, otherwise I dont see anything wrong with bring different musical cultures to another country... isn't music suppose to be the language of all.
