paralysis means you cannot move parts of your body through brain functions. That is different from not being able to feel. You can still move, but not feel.
i have heard stories of actual people whose senses are not so well developed, about feel. They cannot feel how hot or cold things are, so they have to be very wary of the temperature. I read about a man who took a bath in excrutiatingly hot water, and he did not even realize. He died, from something i am nto sure what would cause death, extreme burns or not being able to breathe? something.
