Yea SHIRI was one of my first korean films too.
I thought it was rather good, especially for an all-out action flick.
It was well recieved by international critics and got itself on DVD in the US. I'd recommend it if you're into a well-filmed, action flick.
"The story is about the tormented special agent Ryu (Han Suk Kyu) who is battling an old adversary, Park (Choi Min-Sik) and super assassin Hee while trying to keep his relationship with girlfriend Hyun (Kim Yun-Jim) from falling apart. Ryu and his partner Lee (Song Kang-Ho) are tracking down the theft of a high-tech liquid explosive, CTX by the North Korean 8th Special Forces. The militant faction has planted the explosives all over Seoul and along with Hee keep the agents up to their necks in blood and charred corpses. All of this happens against the backdrop of potential reunification as the leaders of the Koreas meet to begin peace plans at the World Cup Soccer Games. "
