SOCOM: u.s. navy seals is a shooter for ps2. It has a single-player based mission-based mode that's supposed to be pretty tight in which you do stuff navy seals do. It comes with a headset so you can talk to people in the game and work with them and recieve/give orders, it's cool.
The most attractive part of it is the online feature using ps2's broadband adapter, you can play online, and it's the first online shooter for ps2.

It's nothing like syphon filter, thank God for that.

and yes, Socoms (a type of pistol) were a gun in MGS 1 + 2

i have it. its pretty damn hard in the beginning cause ur not used to the new controls but after a while its fun. im stuck on the second level. damn its hard. but gameplay is amazing. especially the headphone function. the game is almost like rainbow six.
