i don't think it's particularly something that JSL is missing...

people have lost interest in kpop

those who are still interested, post in other forums that have been around longer [big example: soompi]

former posters are getting older, busier with school or socialising.

personally, i don't post as much anymore because:
i) i have less time because of school/going out and the time that i do have at home, usually i cbf posting/being active
ii) people can't think of topics to post anymore or the topics are all about the same thing
iii) i've almost completely lost interest in gayo

those are basically my main reasons.

oh yeah... whatever happened to those movie/video reviews you had back on the first version of the site? o.0 those were cool. haha :D bye.

but i agree, i dont think jsl is missing anything. as for me, i post less because others post less.

hmm, its wierd though, we get more hits than ever before, around 3,000 unique visitors a day, making up for around 60,000 hits daily. gah, i should really update this site, or whatever is left of it.

it seems as though all the original JSL members are leaving and new people are slowing coming in. I guess that also a reason i dont post, all the old people that i knew never come here anymore. Jon, seung ju, victor, Cathy (she barely comes on), the list goes on...

i don't listen to kpop much either, i dont know why i joined this forum.

anyho personally i'm busy with work and life in general, so i have not much time to visit every forum to see what's new. i just pick the ones that interest me like music or fashion.

This site was destined to die off a long time ago when the open media section was taken off. It's a site built on the theme of kpop, where people visit to satisfy their interest in the topic. In a theme based site like this, the community, or the forums start and grow primarily as a by-product. When the primary attracting element goes(in jsl's case, the media download section), the prospective visiters go. They move onto more accommodating sites, where they can easily satisfy their need for music.

The forums are just a dying vestige of what was. It's something between a kpop site and a discussions forum primarily consisting of those who were part of the forums before it became a kpop site, those who joined early in the game, mods, those who know jusun personally, and the rare bunch that found an appealing element in it and decided to stay.

My theory : Bring back open media = attracts kpop enthusiasts = new wave of potential forums members = well-needed forums stimulus = active forums.

or

scratch it all and make it an all out discussion forum.

no noe what would be great... free media...i got to korean sites to dl music and videos and y isnt it free here.. u have to sign up for something.. i noe jusunlee needa the money to keep site up.. but maybe thats y not a lot of peeople go here?? and maybe it neeeda better and faster update of pix and stuff.. luiike a goose pic of a day or something... something to make people go in the site to view the updates and keep them coming back for more u noe??
