us airlines seeking to make ends meet

What do you think about America West charging for in-flight snacks/meals?

$3~>snack box
$10~>meal

Me, personally...I'm not too fond of the idea.
I don't think the food is really great enough to charge more for peanuts in the air than a full dinner at Kim Phung on the ground.

i think it's fine. They can go ahead and make it so for all airlines, i don't care too much. Airline food may not be THAT good, but it actually is pretty good i think and it's in the air. So charge 10 dollars, i don't mind. Not like i want to eat more just because i'm bored anyway (after i just ate at the airport), the price will be good for me heheh .

It'll decrease the prices of tickets perhaps, there are benefits.

Yeah, but there is a practical reason why they serve snacks on airplanes. It has something to do with the fluids in your ears. When you eat(while in the air), you're alleviating the pressure that the altitude creates. It helps to avoid headaches and painful ear popping.
It doesn't seem right to make people pay for it.
But, I guess, you can always pack your own food.

oh yeah, that makes sense. I forgot about that.

But, you can just do that swallowing thing, it works. I've gone on an airplane without eating anything several times.

And, you can bring food in from the ground like from mcD or BK or something, or pack it like you said.

yeah whenever i go on planes, my moms like buy some gum to chew your ears wont pop, and i usually forget and they hurt anyway

are they raising the prices because of the decrease in air travel?

well because of what you guys said .. yea .. that's kind of a rip off ... they should give it to us free if it's a health benefit ( ? ) or safety precaution .. hah .. dont know what to call it ...

yeah .. i just try to yawn to pop my ears ..
