i agree. im happy with my ti4200. but the fx
has a really nice exhaust fan (not shown in the pic).
so you dont need to worry about overclocking.
stupid technology so fast. cant catch up.

thats just a test release.

the real one is most likely going to have some way to dissipate the heat from that chip.

-1 GHz DDR memory !!
-about twice as fast compared to a GeForce4 Ti 4600
-In theory you can do 20.000-22.000+ 3D Marks with a graphics card like that ..
-the graphics card has roughly 16000 MB/sec memory bandwidth.
-51 billion floating point operations per second (51 gigaflops) in the pixel shader alone

Comparison with GeForce 4

NV25= GeForce 4
Nv30=GeForce Fx

Photos from Nvidia Demos
-photo's taken from the NVIDIA technology demo's
-"still images don't do justice to seeing the demo's in realtime"

The GeForce FX reference design. As you can notice it will need an external power feed which should be connected to your power-supply. You'll also notice two feeds for active fans.

final
man the list of features just goes on and on and on...

The new GeForce FX will run at 500MHz, faster than the 325MHz Ti 4600 chip. A new feature lets developers program their own shaders, which are what give graphics their unique look. That means game developers can make graphics more realistic. Using Nvidia's CG language, for example, developers can make things such as skin look more like something you could touch, Vivola said.

The first two versions of the new chip, the GeForce FX 5800 and 5800 Ultra are in production. They will be available in January and will be priced between $399 and $499 at retail.

$500...!!

im broke.

Man, if it's 500 bucks for a high end version in the US, then in canada it should be about $700!!! No way man... i can buy a low end system with that money!

i'll just wait till the prices go down...

Posted by AznTiger on 12-31-2002 08:47 PM:

lol. use a $600 dollar card on porn. lol. one think i really like about the card is that the memory is huge so no more lags in the game. i bet the cooling on this baby is gonna look tight.

The GF4 contains 63m transistors, the GF3 contains 60m transistors, and the Pentium 4 contains 55m transistors... that's a heck of a lotta logic gates.

Btw, GeForce FX benchies here
