Installing Hardware
My friend gave me a burner and a 54x cd-rom drive. I had my friend install them, but i don't think he did it right. My computer knows that they're there but says that I need a driver. My friend apparently never had one. I need my computer to recognize the cd drive as my d: drive. How am I to do this without a driver?

well if ur computer literate u might wanna try the
bios screen. cuz usually when u install a new drive
it needs to be configured in the bios. dont mess it up cuz
it can screw up ur comp.
you usually dont need drivers, if youre running winxp, then you need to download something to update your system

yea thas troo..
buh if yoo dun hav XP.. wen tha comp loads at first, wen yoo turn it on, press tha key that opens up tha bios.. it usuallie says wuht tha key is wen yoo start.. during itz memorie check.. i think it might be one of tha F keys.. (ex. F1, F2..) not sure thos.. buh once yoo open it up go to drivers and tell it to load new driver.. and it'll run stuff on it.. umm sorriee if this doesnt make sense.. kinda hard to explain..
