i like her songs.... but i don't really like HER..... yea she is pretty but egotistical too "i can sing so much better than britney spears... and i have a better body too"

hehe i wasn't into music at all before, now i'm starting to listen to some of them and they're quite good, especially avril's COMPLICATED!!!

oh gosh avril lavigne annoys the heck outta me. i mean, i heard her say once dat she's real unlike the pop stars... but she IS in fact just like the other pop stars. she wears just as much makeup as britney spears!! and they way she presents herself.. she seems so cocky. and i was watching the VMAs Diary on MTV, she acts so childish and sooo obnoxious!!! she annoys me. but dats just my opinion.

I think you should re-evaluate that statement, especially when she isn't wearing ANY. All she wears is eye liner and nail polish when she does.

haha, i saw that diary...it was funny haha. I don't see where you get the cockiness from but i like the way she presents herself. No Fakeness i can see, who cares even if she is cocky. She isn't putting on a show like britney and christina, and thats cool

PS - do people make up these things? You know about how they "hear" things. What was the quote? I don't remember her going to lengths to differentiate herself from the other popstars.

i hear it every frickin morning on the radio on the way to school.

lyrics are basic and childish and the whole song itself pisses me off. too outplayed. so is the song that the girl that won american idol always sings.

That's a bad assumption. You thought wrong. I actually have read plenty of articles and "teen girl magazines" about/with articles about her. Sounds to me like she is saying she doesn't want to be like them, not that she is definately not like them. Saying she hung out with guys isn't exactly saying "i'm not like the other singers", i think it's more like "i liked it better and i want you to know so that you might think i'm not like the other singers cause i don't want to be like them." Not like "i'm not them!" I mean, then anything from her past would be seen as a "i'm so different from the other popstars" comment. She wouldn't be able to tell about her past without it being seen that way with that rationale, i mean they were asking her questions about her past, not about how she puts herself between other popstars. They asked her something of her past and she responded, simple as that. Isolate the answer and question, and don't apply it to anything else. Sure she could be hinting off that, but i don't think she is trying that hard. But i admit she has gone as far as to directly state she is different than them, if you will allow me to contradict myself for a moment. Still, don't think she's trying that hard in general and especially in the instances you gave(sorry if you put those words in your mouth ("trying hard"), not sure if i did right now anymore) But we can have different opinions of course, our opinions are kind of similar now that i look at both of them.

WELLLLL...... i agree wit mellowyellow, becuz i HAVE dat issue of YM *AND* cosmogirl cuz i have subscription to both magazines.

and YES she wears alot of makeup. its is VERY RARE to find skin dat is FLAWLESS. i see her on TV and magazines alot, and i see how much makeup - esp. eyeliner- she wears. come on lets face it - ALL CELEBRITIES wear alot of makeup.

Susan, verify what? i'm lost as to what you are talking about. And you know just as well as i do that you implicated a "no", as you stated afterwards as well, when you asked if i read teen girl magazines. Saying "Thats what i thought" doesn't connotate to me any form of "well, it could be either", but a strong no, as in proving your point. What you said after seemed like a cop out, but whatever, i don't care i guess. And no one ever called you an avril hater, or anythign of the sort. Doesn't matter even if you are. I was clear of your opinion from your very first post, even before you reiterated it 3 more times. We got it susan , you're extrapolating to much from my post, i never accused you of anything, and i don't think i implicated it anywhere. I wasn't attacking your stance on avril, i don't believe i ever even mentioned it, only your stance on her being "different from popstars"

Anyway, i really don't think she does wear that much makeup, she says she doesn't, and on those AOL performances it looks like all she is wearing is eyeliner, if you watch radio interviews and stuff it doesn't look like it at all. Looks like she's not wearing any makeup sometimes. But yes this isn't going anywhere, so theirs my opinion elaborated upon. And i didn't have to use all caps to make my point seem so believable. haha jp Actually i did, just for retaliation, hehe.

MAN i love her song COMPLICATED!!!!! i think avril is DEFINANTLY not like britney spears or the other popstars (christina aguilera)--- those 2, britney and christina have to show some skin to get people interested in watching their music videos... plus they not good at singing at all, IMHO

i can't wait for the next music video from AVRIL!!!
