Useless commercials

Why do they go all out with commercial?

Like the water dance scene in the court room for a hair shampoo? I mean, all that for a stupid shampoo?

Waste of time and alot of money.

yea... and there's this one commercial which cost thousands... cuz they built a robot godzilla and hired michael jordon... think it was nike.

Lol these are even worse, they put insurance ads in a children's channel, nickelodeon and others, I mean what's the point, it's not like children will go and buy insurance

big companies like nike and shampoo companies can afford to make commercials that can costs hundreds of thousands to make. they have research and marketing experts.. so the cut n dry buy my insurance on the pax channel dont cut it anymore to pay the bills.

All these over-the-top commercials, while seeming pretty far-fetched and ludicrous on face actually have a lot of value. The point of making an elaborate commercial for such a simple thing as shampoo is to distinguish that brand of shampoo from competitors' brands, and to make that brand of shampoo memorable. You're here posting about it so it obviously worked, to some extent.
Advertisements are put on children's channels because many parents watch t.v. with their children, and if a child's watching and a parent is with them/nearby, then they'll see the advertisement reaches it's target market and the desired effect is achieved.
