my 60 gb hd that had all my personal data suffered a head crash. im upset. i mean really. but im trying hard to keep my cool...

4 years of school work, essays, poems, and other documents. mp3s, music videos, anime series, movies, dramas, and other media. all my previous web development projects (including backups for v1 and v2 of jusunlee.com), warez and other downloads, hacker utilities, and most importantly.

my personal journal.

shit. 20+ gb worth of data. this hard drive has real history. 4 years worth of my identity. fuck man. im... so pissed. ill have to shell out a good 1000$ to get it recovered professionally. and i dont have that kind of money...

the last time something like this happened was when my computer got infected by the chernobyl virus. w95.cih. i remember that well. lost around 4 years of my identity as well back then. had not these two cases occured, id still have 8 years of accumalated personal data. fuck...

so the moral of the story is:
back up your hard drives often. on some sort of different media, such as a cd rom, so that its fail proof when your harddrive goes down. i would hate to see someone post in the future cursing themselves out because they didnt back up their data and lost everything.

...ahhhh fuck man. im depressed.

poor jusun...will that put a delay on v2?

was it a maxtor hd?

i dunno what i'd do if my computer crashed. or got a virus... my computer is like... a member of my family. it hasn't crashed so far.. :huh:

i know how that feels... somethin happened to my Computer so that it wouldnt even boot up, even after reinstalling it and all my device drivers several times, so i just gave up, formatted, and started over. but i lost a buncha papers i wrote, all of my mp3s and videos, and 3 months of work i did on my dad's church's webpage. i was extremely pissed, i know how that feels man. sorry to hear that. hope you can somehow come up with the money to get the data recovored.

i don't put anything that important on the computer... cuz i'm not that good with it..... which is why my room is such a trash bin... instead of all the papers being on the comp... it's all up in my closet....

well my comps crashes every time i play games and stuff.... i get da blue screen and stuff T____T its like everyother day

Sorry to hear that jusun, hope you can recover the data lost, I feel your pain too, I also had a HD crash before, had a years worth of data too, I got really pissed

damn that sucks jusun. my harddrive suffered a head crash too and i lost it. but im getting it replaced by warranty. how can you get it professionally restored? i mean i never knew it was possible.

aww... sorrie jusun... was this juss yesterday night??? mang, I'm sorrie to hear that... that's why I save most of my important stuff on disks and I write it down on paper... haha... sorrie mang...

damn, that must really sux :sad: sorry to hear that Ju-Sun, hope you can recover the lost data in the future
