taping DVD's

mai frend taped DVD's, but mai uncle sez it's impossible...i think it mite hav sumtin to do wit the newer VCR's all having write-guard, but i'm not sure...can u tape DVD's??

yea, you can tape dvd's.
and vice versa.

You can't JUST tape it from DVD 2 VCR if it's copy protected. If the DVD has Marcovision protect, which most of the comerial ones does then your gonna get some weird picture like the contrast getting lighter/darker throught out, poor picture Q, green picture and so on.

On the other hand if your lucky enough to have a Marcovision decoder before it gets to your VCR then it shouldn't be a problem.
