souls

hmmm..this forum duzn't seem to be too popular...but this is just sumtin i've alwaize wundered bout.
do pplz realli hav souls? are their little fluttering beings in our bosoms that carry us from day to day? are our bodies merely capsules that hold these incredible little intangible things? what wud life be like without our souls? how duz one lose their soul, and where duz it go after it is lost? how can u tell if a person is "soul-less"?
so many questions...i think too much, i actualli hav white hair

from a religious point of view i suppose they do exist, so then when you die, your soul can go to heaven/hell. Maybe the actual emotions that we experience come from our souls, and our tangible bodies are only useful to sustain our life here on earth. But when we die, life doesn't need to be sustained anymore, so then the soul can go about solely by itself (homonym puahah).

But on a day to day basis i really don't think about souls and whether they exist or not, the things i experience are experienced by me not by "my soul." Souls aren't really things that are that significant in my daily life, thus, questions about them don't really cross my mind that often. (eh that was a little confusing :huh: )

I believe souls are about as real as a conscience (not in the sense that all people are evil, but in the sense that an entity called a conscience does not exist but is rather an entity imposed with meaning)

souls are part of the intangible world. A world we can't see. If we try hard to understand this world, we will only be blinded further by enigma.

about the "lost soul" thing, i don't know how somebody lose their or what they're like after, but if somebody has a lost soul, i don't think it goes anywhere. I mean, a soul wouldn't be lost if it had a place to go.

you lost ur soul when u die. then ur slow goes to heaven/hell

though if we can find string theory which calls for the universe to live in 10 dimensional hyperspace to be believable, then why not this? though desptie this, i don't think souls existance could be possible.

well maybe none of us exist. Maybe we're all part of somebody's dream, and when the dreamer wakes up, we'd all dissappear and only be a faint memory......

i believe in souls... because of the religious thing. okay i don't have meca big sounding words.... i think souls are what help you think?? like how they say "think with your heart not your head"... its more like "think with your soul not your head"..... okay i'm not even gonna keep going...

Are you your soul? or is a soul something you posses?

What I mean is that a soul might be your conscienceness. That everthing is from your POV because of you soul. Niezam. If your soul was a possesion wouldn't it seem like: oh when you die your sushi will go to heaven or hell

One's soul refers to that person's life, or the entire human person. The body is the literal, the soul is the contextual, souls are just one's essence.

That's what I view a soul as, but like Crazydeb8ter, it does not concern me on a daily basis. Other matters can be much more pressing.

Psychosnowman - your last comment doesn't make any sense. So what if some people find string theory to be believable? How would that lend itself to believing in souls? Or are you just citing an example of something that lies unproved, and comparing it to souls...

It makes a lot of sense, and i'm not sure how you got confused. It's saying that if we can believe in dimensions we cannot see, then possibly we could believe in souls we cannot see as well. What's so hard about it? it makes sense, just think about it more and it does. haha, perhaps i should have explained it for you... in more words .

ok, that's actually the point that you were trying to make. you were juss citing an example, that was enough words thank you.

interesting...i dunno, sumtymz random thots pop into mai head and this is one thata circulates around mai mind a lot. :huh: i'm catholic so i guess i believe in them, but i kinda think of souls as spirits...like if ur spirit's broken, isn't that kinda like ur soul is wandering around looking for a host? i dunno...

I always thought of a soul as the actual person's entity, not a possession.
