ummm question for u supermods

if this random thoughts place is supposed to be "unmoderated" and generally a place to spam. why did one of you guys delete my thread. it was pretty much harmless and i had a simple goal intended.

eh. but still. even though the random thoughts forum is unmoderated, you cannot just make a thread to spam and get upto "1000 posts" was your "simple goal" to get 1000 posts? eh. well my apologies.

projectbeta has a thread similar and i believe the mods allowed it there.

nm.. pb and jsl are different forums with different rules.

however, is there a rule saying you can't spam here?

ah, oh well.

I thought this was an unmoderated forum as well, as it says under the description:
"Post anything here. Unmoderated forum."

woo hoo supermods

although, I acknowledge that it is defined:
"pointless posts
to enhance the experience of these forums, please do not post just for the sake of posts counts. we care more about what you say than how many times you can hit the "add reply" button."

in the forum ettiquite. I guess it's just unclear as to how much that applies to this forum. even still, i still say woo hoo, supermods

and on the forum netiquette . it says

pointless posts
to enhance the experience of these forums, please do not post just for the sake of posts counts. we care more about what you say than how many times you can hit the "add reply" button.

His goal was just to get that thread to 1000 posts, not his post count.

I think it's ironic that sangxjin is being reprimanded for "useless" posts by the users who have the most posts on the JSL forums. Not to offend anyone, but seriously, how many of your posts have been useful? Think about it. Some people have over 1000 posts on JSL. How many of them are just some simple comment that didn't really make a difference, and could have been left unsaid. That thread got closed because the people on it acknowledged it was useless, but seriously how many other threads have you posted on or started that were just as pointless. The only difference is no one bothers to go out and acknowledge that those threads are pointless. I don't think people really care anyways, most people are bored enough anyways, and posting on the forums provides something to do. As long as they aren't offending anyone, or hurting anyone, i don't see anything wrong with it. Additionally, it was in the random thoughts forum, a forum that's supposed to be unmoderated, yet still somehow gets moderated by some of the supermods, which I guess is cool.
If a thread isn't harmful to anyone, then leave it alone, and find other things to moderate. If you don't like such threads, then don't check them, it's as simple as that. They don't decrease the quality of the forums. If you really don't want spam to proliferate, then leave it alone, don't post and contribute to it.
