Question Korea V. Italy..A FIXED GAME?!...

hmm yea congratz Korea.. but umm did u guys hear the rumors? about how this game was fixed..?

I didnt watch the game.. but today i heard a lot of news on the game and alot on how this game was fixed.. how the referees were doing Korea a favor...

It was said that something about this referee had help from South Korea to be in the games, and since they helped the referees, they owed Korea a favor so they let them get into the top 8....

I'm pretty sure by now yall heard..wha do u guys think?

Hmm well if this is tru tho.. this would give all the asian countries a really BAD reputation b/c i believe this was the first time asian countries were able to hold such an enormous and important event.. ((soon to be in China too 2008 the Olympics))..

no i wouldnt say so. the incident you are probably refering to is when totti got his second yellow, hence a red. but he deserved it, as it was because he faked to have been tripped inside the box in an attempt to get a penalty kick. in the replays, you can see that the korean defender only slightly touched totti, but totti tumbled and fell dramatically. and i think part of the referee's decision was due to the fact that there were several occasions earlier in the game when totti faked getting hit when he lost possession of the ball, even when he wasnt even touched. one of his acts was caught by the game camera, with him clutching his face soon after he lost possession of the ball, even when the korean defender hardly had contact with him.

in any case, people can say whatever they want. korea won, and thats final. heck, maradona helped his team beat the the british team by using his 'hand of God' to score a goal in the '86 world cup.

I keep hearing this rumour, mainly from bitter Italian fans who cant lose with honour.

It was not fixed...If it were a fixed game then Korea would not have been losing right up until the 87th minute...It was impossible to predict that they would score with just 3 minutes of the game left..

As for the Totti thing. Well he deserved it. All the players knew that in this world cup the referees were going to clamp down on diving and faking painful stuff. Totti knew that and yet he still dived to try and get a penalty..The yellow card was deserved and we all know that 2 yellows = a red..

The hand of god was when Maradonna scored a goal with his hand. The referee didnt see it in the game but everyone saw it on the replays.

I don't think the game was fixed at all.
i mean you can go right ahead and just fix other things..
but not big games like the world cup!!

it wasn't fixed..many italians think that because they're in shock that we beat them.
i just think that some calls were really unfair for the italians and you can even hear the commentators telling you about some fouls that weren't called for korea.
anyway this is something of the past and we're just hoping the best for korea against spain.

its too bad that people consistantly refer to these types of actions instead of taking the loss like a true sportsman

just face it... people can't stand losing... especially something this huge...

the final minutes in the game the korean head coach, Hiddink gambled. He decided to put 5 up front instead of 3 or 2..this meant more plays and more opportunities to score but if the Italians broke through the defense would've suffered horribly, he also decided to replace the captain with a strong defensive kicker.

Everything went right..Cha Doo Ri (sub) made some incredible plays and kept the ball on offense it was just a matter of time until someone scored the Golden Goal(Ahn Jung Hwan). This just proves korea wasn't all about fixed games, luck, and the other B.S..this just proves how hard the korean team has worked. They were rewarded and found a place in the 8th rounds..

Good Luck Korea..!!! Fighting..!
