9/11 Incident

I know this is old news but has anyone here been directly affected by the 9/11 incident? Well, I live in Staten Island, like a ferry ride away from the city...so the day of the incident, all the Staten Island high schools (we only have about 5 of them) were called and told that there was a bomb in our school about an hour before the planes crashed into the wtc....This guy i know who i used to be close with had his father die because he was a firefighter....

so was anyone else affected? if so, how did it affect you?

my brother worked in the tri-state area near the WTC at the time, and he takes classes at the WTC weekly, and i didn't know if he had classes that day so i was kind of scared like the whole school day. That was also just in the middle of the whole weapons of mass destruction debate topic year, and all the cases imply like "US is the hegemon, and implicitly we influence all other countries with our deterence never to do anything stupid." And i never thought any country would do that in my lifetime, especially not here. Well it happened and i was just in a "dammit" mentality. I like how everyone stopped hating america in america for the majority though. Too many people did it for no reason.
