Nickelodeon Gone Gay?

I happened to open an email, one of those junk mails, and found this letter:

NICKELODEON PRO-HOMOSEXUAL SHOW IS IN PRODUCTION!
WILL AIR THIS SUMMER

May 29, 2002


Dear TVC Supporter:

The homosexual newspaper, "Washington Blade" has just published an
action alert on TVC's campaign against the airing of a pro-homosexual
show on Nickelodeon. The alert indicates that the show is already in
production—contrary to what I was told by Marva Smalls, a Nickelodeon
Executive Vice President. Smalls told me that the program was only in
the development stages—not in full production. In short, she lied to me!


The "Blade" is now urging its homosexual readers to contact TVC and
Nickelodeon to protest our effort to keep this show from airing. They
are aggressively targeting children for homosexual recruitment!

I need your help today to flood Nickelodeon with petitions urging them
to stop production of this show.

Nickelodeon advertises itself as a network that parents can trust. We
now know that we can't trust them. The "Blade" article headline says it
all: "Nickelodeon goes gay." The "Blade" says that the Gay and Lesbian
Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is working with Nickelodeon on this
upcoming children's program!

If you are one of the 43,000 who have already signed this petition, I

Making a parallel that watching gay shows causes people to become gay is like the connection people try to use with video games and killing. The ones that actually do go around killing are the ones with the messed up heads and perhaps they would not have done so (as in murder) if their parents and guardians took time to solve the child's inner problems first.

if the part of makin a show that expresses sodomy as natural is true, thats kinda fucked up to be showin to kids. and yeah, rosie odonnel is a lesbian.

now THIS is a good idea. Seriously, i don't know about doing it right now, but then again...when will we be ready to show this stuff? I've thought about this before and wondered when we'd get to have children shows that involved homosexuality and i'm glad it may be happening. It's better to learn about this stuff when you are a kid, then you won't have to make a normative comparison between the two lifestyles when you finally realize this stuff exists.

Educating the kids through a children's tv show that makes it seem in the show like it's normal (as it should be in real life), will essentially perhaps sway them to believe that there is nothing wrong with the lifestyle. This isn't any recruitment, thats absurd. It's acceptance and education through one of the most tangible and effective means. Kids learn a lot when they are a kid, and this hopefully will help decrease all this discrimination.

But then again, if this flawed theory of recruitment works out...why not? It's not THAT bad.
