Men VS Women

This is very interesting to me... Just today in Science, a guy and I got in a long talk about the strength of both sexes...

Which sex is stronger and which sex can take more pain???

I think that perhaps the men are stronger but the girls can take more pain...

Why?

Because usually, if you look at the statistics of just sports... Men's standards are usually higher than the women's... For instance, let's take track and field... Long jump... both sexes are supposed to reach a certain minimun amount of feet... The women's minimum feet is less than the men's. Get it?

Well, women can take pain better than men because they have to endure all the pain from labor/giving birth... and all that extra stuff that men don't have to endure...

men have more a higher of percentage of muscle in their weight then women. Women though usually have a high pain tolerance because they give birth.

But the whole competition between the sexes is pretty stupid to me.

i shall debate that.

In my karate class all the women usually have to stop sparring off after they received a punch to the face. Guys can keep on going after taking 10 punches as well as a few kicks.

So in terms of pain tolerance im not exactly sure :)

i'll bet i could take more pain than 90% of women out there.

i think men can take pain way more than women can~
not to be discourging our ladies out dere..but still~

i also think dat men are stronger..

but..when singling out certain gals..[like me]
dey can take pain way more than guys...and dey may also be stronger...i think its juss who u compare who wit..

but as a whole population of da girls and guys...
guys are way stronger..and are more tolerable to pain.

where did this tenet come from anyway? I hear this all the time from women, that women can take more pain than men...but how do you actually measure this? And where'd it come from, if it's not some false truth that exists in society (example: centrifical force, instead of centripetal)

Men, well, i'm pretty sure that we can take more pain.

I mean, girls fight DIRTY! Men fight face to face, but girls do that back stabbing crap and rumor shiatz.

I'm scared to make ANY enemies with girlz. That way WOMEN are more powerful.

Both women and men have the same mental capabilities i believe. :sleepy:

now everyone is talkin all guys and all girls in general when every person of the sex isnt even in the same level. i think a female olympic athlete is stronger then most guys here and i think some guys can take more pain then some girls. i dont really think u can really debate about this cause everyone is different :huh:

honestly i feel bad for women cuz think about it... for an instance having a baby... we get all the fun, and they get the down side of it... having a 7 pound crap coming out of ur stomach that streches your hole pretty wide... i think men can take more physically as in fighting but physically having a baby out of a guys ass isnt something to determine if u are stronger
men are stronger due to the fact most men are bigger and stronger than woman, but there are also woman taht are stronger than men so... WHO KNOWS?

so what you people are saying is that a womyn has a low pain tolerance before she goes through child birth or something? That is definately what it seems like. because how would she have such a high tolerance beforehand?

I agree with victor on this one though, any coincidental burden womyn endure doesn't connotate them being able to take more pain, it's just that they have to for child birth, but is that much more painful than being tortured in a war camp in enemy territory? This isn't a great example/juxtaposition but i'm going with it, so on a side note i've never heard of a womyn being tortured overseas (until someone proves me wrong, of which i am expecting soon ^^;). So if certain men undergo these severe tortures without talking of their orders and military knowledge, does that make them stronger than females?

All these examples come from a popularized tenet of womyn pride of being able to take more pain than men. Is there any validation? I don't think there is, and these examples are feeble in determining the other. Everyone is different, there is no limit to one just because of their sex.

I think this is generalising too much. it depends on the individual, and you can't just say one way or the other. it also sounds (to me) kinda like stereotyping...cuz you're basing how much strength men have or how much pain women can endure on the ppl you know, but everyone is different

this is kinda generalising a bit too much..
cuz every individual is different ya kno?
but i guess, in general, men are more physically stronger and women are more emotionally stronger (as in they can control their feelings more)
