Question I am completely new to this!!!! Help me out!!

Hi! I came across this site while looking for some baby names. And I really have hit a hard spot, so I decided to join this. I think this is where I can meet Asians. I'm Asian American but I dont feel Asian. I was adopted as a newborn and raised in the country. I never really "met" Asians till I went to college. By then I just felt "foreign" around them. I'm a newlywed and soon to be mom. I am wanting to give my baby a korean name like I have. I have 4 names. 3 are American and one is Korean. So I thought I would like to do the same for my son. The only problem is.........I can't find my name to see the meaning. My whole life my mother told me it meant shining............but I'm not sure. My "korean name" is Mee...........and supposedly it means shining. I don't want to name my son with a hyphen korean name........cause it would be too long then. Anyway..........I would like to get to back intouch with my heritage and figure out my dilemma and hopefully make new friends.

usually an asian name consists of three parts.

your last name, then the name.

take for example my name... Yee Chen Hao

Yee being my last name and then Chen Hao meaning like...number 1 or the best..or whatever.

that's how I've seen asian names...well..except for japanese names...

mine's chinese..not korean btw.

good luck, welcome to the boards, and congradulations on your weddedness..(...it's not a word but it should be...) and your soon to be born child :D
