Once upon a time in Mexico

At first, glance, this movie seems like an updated version of Desperado. That would be true, except for one big difference:
this movie has Johnny Depp.
Depp delivers another stellar performance (the previous one i'm referring to being from Pirates of the Caribbean) that carries the movie along not only because it is his part in the movie, but because also in the sense that his acting keeps the movie fresh and charming. His humor is evident, and what humor it is.
If you want one good reason to see the movie, I say see it for Depp.

Well, it is a sequel to desperado. It's actually the third movie in the series, the first being el mariachi, a low budget (~$7,000) film that enjoyed a mediocre cult following. Quentin Tarantino, a friend of the movie's creator encouraged him to follow up on the second movie, and the result is what y'all have seen.

oh yea..i heard Desperado was a sequel to some movie..but didn't knoe what it was called. it doesn't look like that great of a movie..but if i do go see it, it's definitely for Johnny Depp, he's such a respectable actor.

yea i know. I was just asserting that Mexico is a unique movie rather than a remake of the Desperado.
