sad news
did anyone hear about the twins that are conjoined by the head? too bad the surgury that it didn't work. RIP
yea its sad they even went to law school
but it does pose the question: if they went to heaven would they look like themselves before or after the surgery
im serious this confuses me

yea its pretty sad what happend to them..i think the president said that hed pay for the surgery though..i think it was around 300,000
one of them wanted to go to law school and the other wanted to practise medicine. its really sad that they never got to do what they wanted...but well i guess it was the risk they were willing to take! my mom was in the same floor of the hospital as them, but we never got to give them our well wishes

doctors said they had 50:50 chance... didnt they die in 90 minutes? that's horrible...it's not fair to them at all not being able to live their lives as long as possible nah mean?

aw i read about this in the new york times yesterday.. so sad.
ill probably get a couple of things wrong but i'll recap.
they are 29 year old twins from iran. they first went to germany(i think) to meet with doctors to see if an operation could be offered. they rejected the idea four years ago deeming the surgery too risky.
the singaporean hospital..(forget what hospital.. starts with an r) gave the twins a 50% chance of success. they had specialty surgeons from all over the world including the u.s. the main difficulty was the age factor and the main vein in their brain that they both share. one of the twins took out a vein from her thigh to be replace the missing vein. the operation seemed to go as plannned but the twins lost too much blood and died.
the twin's adoptive parents were against the idea of the seperation. but the twin's desire to "see each other's face without a mirror" and iranian's famous siamese twin were destined to take this operation.
the times' heard that the iranian gov't paid for the 300,000$ bill or the singaporean hospital waived the fee.
for me.. i can see how desperate they were. i would never fully understand what their lives really were but i feel sympathy for wanting to be an individual. some of us are still struggling for such a thing. appreciate what we have and who we are.
