fire him!

iite what do you guyz think about this character...

im a freshman on the varsity tennis team of my hS...my coach tells me im playin 1st doubles in the league tournie...i tell him a week in advance that i cant make it...he flips out on the spot...and today...he stops me in the middle of the hallway wit tons of people walkin about...he starts yelling at me...lechuring me and crap....hez like you're in my doghouse now...i was bout to tell him to bite me...frealz...i dont think he cares about teaching us anything...hez more for winning?...yeh..like that...i asked the athletic director to fire him...

what you guyz think?

a week? that's not early. In track, we gotta tell the coaches a couple weeks in advance, and I'm sure that the coaches have to submit their rosters ahead of time for tennis

then again, he's got no business harassing you outside of practice

i think you'll have to get more on him to get him fired.
i heard firing a teacher takes awhile.

i run track and in my opinion its a little more involved than tennis. we have to tell our coach a few weeks in advance if were going away or arent going to be able to make a meet or something. youre mad becuase your coach concentrates too much on winning and not enough on teaching but if youre first doubles, i think you know almost as much if not more about the sport than the coach does. with high school sports (id have to exclude track from this), there isnt much a coach can teach you becuase if youre good coming into a sport its most likely becuase you grew up with it. they pretty much just do a lot of conditioning and teach the bad kids some basic skills of the sport.

was the obligation you had something that the coach might have though was unimportant or less important than the match? i dont think a coach yelling at a kid is a worthy reason to be fired. even if it was bad enough where he could be, they wouldnt fire him, they just wouldnt let him coach the team - or maybe if he had been around for a long time, they wouldnt do anything about it and just wait for you to leave the school. i mean if one kid had a problem with a teach whos been coaching for 25 years, i think that the kid whos only gonna be there for 4 has less precedence that the coach.

I must agree that track meets are probably more involved because of the many events between many schools as opposed to the dual tennis meets.

still, a week? do you have a good excuse for not being able to go?

wut events u run?? i run 8 (2:03) and 4 (52.2), not that good but im a sophmore.

i had to go to a mission's trip for my youth group at church in pennsylvania that day at 3...so yeh...

if it was something religious i guess for some that would take precedence over sports... but not me. i own track.

mr bruntrager.. eh... i always thought he was a cool guy. you should complain, but don't get him fired yet... if he keeps acting like an ass to you, record his voice on a mini voice recorder, and show a teacher.

if you really want to get him fired, pass a petition around and get people to sign it. but, don't you think you're acting a little rashly? sure you're mad at him for embarassing you, but just realize that you need to get things in even earlier and just let it slide this time. i mean, even if you do get him fired, who's gonna take his place?

well that is a pickle but education definitely comes before sports man..i am a tennis player too but that is a little over the top to do that to you, especially during the school day in the hallway...i mean if you are a teacher you can't let sports influence or interfere with school
