S.a.r.s

i hate 2 talk about this .... but when everyone is condemning about the war, we asians are suffering from a sever and vigulent disease the SARS..

i know that maybe most of u may have read about this...but if u haven't take notice:
the disease is an airborne disease and it originated from Guangdong China. the disease could be contracted by touch and inhalation of the virus. u must wash ur hands b4 touching ur eyes, nose n mouth bcos the disease may spread by touch.

currently there is no cure 4 the disease. most antiviruses put 2 the test have not been responding well...so the only way to prevent this disease from spreading is 2 wash ur hands frequently.

SARS is now making its way around the globe. cases have been reported all over Asia, canada, the states and probably will affect more countries. unless necessary, avoid visiting these countries bcos the rate of getting the disease would be high.

i bring about this topic bcos i don't want anyone 2 be so unfortunate. this disease may be turn out to be a plague. so don't take hygene 4 granted..

may God bless those who are ill with this disease and protect those who are unaware of this disease....

post if u have any opinions..

thats pretty hillarious you say only ASIANS are being affected by this, like it's something someone else did, no, more than just ASIANS are being affected by this, so lay off the guil trip. Hillarious in a pathetic kind of way.

ouch, so harsh! he just meant that right now it's prevalent in asia, thus affecting mostly asian people. no need to nitpick at his wording and attack him. he was just speaking out of concern for people, including u. besides, he also mentions that it is spreading to other places. i didn't see anything hilarious or pathetic about what he said at all.

even still, one must always be aware of what they say and to whom it may offend. I would think Ajy2k would have grounds to nit pick in this case since he is one of the few nonasian people on this forum. It's true what he says, and i don't think a "nit-pick bad" counter should warrant his point not being given any ground, because honestly it is a good idea to realize that not only asians are affected by it.

I mean, with your rationality, i could go around saying kafir to every black person i know and as long as i didn't know it was bad, it'd be ok. That's just welfare for the ignorant. Grant credit where credit is deserved. Kudos to ajy2k btw.

intent is a bolster-less standard.

Is it similar to the syphon filter virus?

Posted by rhymester* on 04-02-2003 02:18 AM:

they don't have much info on this virus, there is no cure. So far as u guys would know, HK is the worst affected. My HK friends wear masks! But there are patients who have been discharged, i read in the papers that its mostly their own will and how strong their immune system is that saves you.

In singapore, they have closed all the schools except for the higher level ones. They have yet to contain the virus yet, seems like ppl are getting it from indonesia and China and HK and bringing it back. right now in the airport, everyone who enters singapore from SARS affected areas has to go through a medical check at the airport.

Anyways, one of my friends have caught it and is in the hospital, they closed one of the hospitals here just for all SARS patients. I guess it will only get worse and worse, being airborne and all. In australia they already had their first SARS patient, in Canada so many! Be careful folks, SARS is comin for u!!~~

there are several research labs working in coordination with the WHO to develop a cure- apparently they've discovered some promising finds.

WHAT?????

about sars: my friend, whose parents are both doctors, says that only about 4% of people who contract the virus actually die; 6% get seriously ill, while the other 90% recover. i dunno where she got that from, but this virus is definitely scary. there are some cases in the bay area already, i think.
edit: however, plane tickets to Asia are getting cheaper everyday -_-
