Hybrids.

If you want to help the environment by reducing tailpipe emissions, think small and think hybrid. Furthermore, these economy cars get unprecendented fuel mileage, getting 2 - 3x more mpgs than a normal car.

Gas/Electric Hybrids.

What are your opinions on them?

i think its all marketing bullshit, it may appear that your saving lots of gas and money and ur helping out the environment and all dat bullshit...do u realize u have to replace the cell in about 7-10 years? and the cells are BANK.....so watevr u think ur saving now...u pay for when u buy a new cell

however speculative as it sounds, there is always the possibility that the cell prices will drop as more hybrids are being sold

Sort of. See those wheel covers on the Insight? Thats aerodynamics at work. They mostly rely on the fact that they dont weigh much at all.

i know the 1 cylinder volkswagen depends on aerodynamics to achieve like 400 mpg.
