The bottom one is not a triangle. The angles of the two smaller triangles are different.

its pretty simple... the red triangle has a bigger height, so it can fit those l shaped piece within that height when its on the bottom. but when u move that red triangle, and move the green triangle down, the green triangle is shorter, so it cant fit those pieces.

thats partially correct. it wouldnt make sense if one was a triangle, and the other not - both arent triangles. if they were to be triangles, the two smaller triangles (red and green) would have to be proportional in length (for the angles to align, to maintain a straight line for the hypotenuse of the larger triangle). this isnt the case here, as the red triangle is 3/2s the height of the green triangle, but is .5 units larger than 3/2s the base of the green.
