career speakers
does your school offer speakers that come and talk about their jobs? my school has one every 3 or 4 weeks (nurse, author, research scientist, etc etc).
today we had a forensics scientist. i went to the q&a session. it was very, very interesting. it sounds like a good job. i'm glad i had the personal opportunity to find out about careers in this way. do you guys have this?
well i go to nyack high school in new york and sadly we really dont have people that come and talk about their careers. But this, to me, seems to vital. You get to have a peek into something you may be doing for the rest of your life. And i'm one that supports doing what is your passion, whether you bring in the big bucks or not. Although my school does have something called the W.I.S.E. program for seniors where you kinda take part in an internship for the profession of your choice, which is pretty exciting
