Digital darkroom

Thsi should be in hw help, but ill probably get more responses here

for my digital darkroom class i need to to make a budget to buy a digital darkroom (not really buying, its just a project).

A digital darkoom is a whole computer setup for digital imaging/photography. it includes:
-Computer
-Camera (film or digital)
-Printer
-Scanner (tho i might not need it with digital camera)
-Moniter
-Software

i wanna get the best possible DD out of my budget. have to make 2 lists, one is with a $3000 budget, and the other one is with a $6000 budget.

I start out with absolutely nothing, and I cant get pirated software or anything like that. Bundled software that comes with hardware is ok tho.

so what do u guys recommend?

assemble the computer with your own parts for cheaper

Digicam - Canon S30
Computer - Any of your choosing (go to Dell or build your own - either way)
Monitor - Get a nice crisp looking LCD - 21 inches of course (with that budget it's OK)

You're going to have to research some high quality photo printing printers.

Some form of Windows, Photoshop 7 at least for photo manipulation. I'm sure there's more. That's all I can think of.
