A Tale of Two Sisters was released two weeks ago in South Korea, where it broke box office records for Korean films. The story, adapted from a Korean folk tale, ÀåÈ­È«·Ã, follows a pair of sisters who return from a mental institute to live with their father and stepmother. Along with their stepmother's madness and cruelty, they must deal with The Sixth Sense-esque horror, from visions of women hiding under the sink to bags of corpses dragging across the floor. The movie appears poised for international success, with distribution deals already in place for Japan, Italy, Scandinavia, France and Hong Kong. In addition recently DreamWorks has won a bidding war for the rights to remake it.
