Info on the Post-Seven Year's war era.

This was not meant to be taken literally.

Well, after the seven years war Great Britain thought "Hmm we have lots of war debt troubles arising how will we solve this?" Well it was also evident that the Colonies that belonged to England also had some insecurities so the parliment suggested "Hey, the colonies seem unhappy with thier war debts as well, we can kill to birds with one stone here. We can solve our debt while cheering up the Colonies by giving them some nice taxes. Taxes always make people happy." The King who thought he was Santa Clause replied "Okay!!" So then a box full of taxes was sent via Fed Ex to the Colonies. When the Colonies recieved the taxes they said "This isn't exactly what I wanted for my birthday you know..." The paliment said "What? But you love taxes"

that said and done, lets get some realist thought in here

All british citizens got taxed. The acts that Parliament passed just enforced the idea that americans were british citizens as well and had to pay taxes (equity among all subjects). Because there was a war debt, and Parliament felt that it was about time the americans started fufilling their civil duties to the "motherland," they passed some acts. The americans were pissed off about this, protesting that it was an infringement upon their rights (what rights? the rights as a british citizen? If they followed those rights, they would be paying up).

all in all, the americans were a bunch of stingy hippies.

It's true your version is less confusing, but mine is funnier.
