Untitled.

“Look, Mommy! She’s dead! She’s gone, Mommy!” the cheerful voice of the young boy rang out like a cannon firing. The shocked mother stared at the fallen, tiny corpse in front of her.
‘How could this have happened? Why?’ she lowered herself to carefully touch her daughter’s limp body, making sure not to “hurt” her anymore than what had been done before.
“Don’t bother her, Mommy! She’s playing.” The boy quickly ran to his mother’s side and pulled her hands away from his sister.
The mother slowly looked at him with bewildered eyes as a replacement to asking, “Why?”
The boy understood her silent question and gladly replied with a gleeful smile, “WE were playing. It’s all a game see?”
His mother still had her expression on her pale face.
Her son started to get frustrated and gathered his little fingers in shaking fists.
“Mommy! Don’t you get it?! We were playing! It’s stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!” he was angry now, and nothing would calm him down.
The mother didn’t notice his anger, only the fact that he killed her….he killed her daughter.
She just stared blankly at her baby girl and cried. She wept for some time, but not enough. The boy fiercely slapped his mother.
“Stop that! Stop it now!” he demanded.
She couldn’t take it any longer. The poor thing grabbed her son by the shoulders and shook him wildly.
“Why?! Why?!”
Surprisingly the small boy calmly answered, “I already told you. It was all a game.”
His mother let go of him and slowly, and painfully walked to the windows. She couldn’t see that well because of the salty stinging tears in her eyes, but she knew it was sunset. The lovely orange, red, and even purple colors danced beautifully with the bright setting sun.
Darkness would soon be there. Nothing would brighten dark corners, or lightless rooms. Anything could happen in the dark.
She continued to gaze out the window and weep, but she didn’t notice her son. He was behind her, smiling. It wasn’t a genuine smile either. He knew what time of day it was and what would happen. It was time for him to play.

Should I continue with this?
