I then told DJ that he would never drive his car for more than 100 miles a year in the US, and he told me he had "ways" around DEQ he said he had "hookups".

They also talked about 8 second supra's like they were common cars.

One of them thought that a wastegate and a BOV were the same things.

this was the apartment107 chatroom.

it's filled with flip kids who all say they run 9 second quarters with their supra's..

and when told that a supra MKIV twin turbo wouldnt ever run a 9 second, they deny it and say that they had JDM engine swaps or something lame

idiots....isnt a wastegate part of turbocharger to help recycle the heated air/steam into the turbo? or something near or like that? i dont know what a BOV is. there is no hook-ups around DEQ.

a wastegate is a valve before the turbo that allows excess exhaust to bypass the turbo.

and a BOV is a blow off valve;

essentially it vents extra boost pressure with that pssshhht sound.

when the BOV vents outside its called a BOV, and when it vents back into the inlet of the turbo, it's a compressor bypass valve.

I hope that made sense

A stupid question that has been bothering me....how does an exhaust let IN air for the turbo??? I kno that the more the exhaust lets out air, the more the turbo can suck in...but how does an exhaust let in air?? Also, if the exhaust lets in the air, what is the purpose of the intake?? THanks for answeing my dumb questions

air can only go in as fast as air goes out. make any sense?

when air isnt going out fast enough [exhaust] it's called back pressure.

What is up with kids and wanting Supra's these days? They talk about either the Supra being the ultimate car(well here in the states anyways), either that or they'll put the Skyline GTR on the same level. Understand those are both good cars. But the fastest recorded skyline in the world lost to a 300ZX.
