Culture Shows

It seems that in most of the culture shows I've seen, 30%-70% of it consists of hip hop dancing no matter what the culture. (Actually it's more like 40%-70% but I'm not exactly sure though.)

Cultural crap is...crappy.

Damnit, I wanted to be alliterative and not redundant but I can't think of a word that works better than crappy.

(And Indian cultural crap doesn't really have hip-hop in it. but it's still crap)

You missed TZ's it had Indian cultural stuff as well as Indians doing hip-hop.

TZ's Indians don't count, man. Those people are kerala-ins, they're all whores. and fat. and jaby.

No one likes them.

I'm talking about indian cultural crap here, which usually has a lot of bhangra.

the two colleges i have been to, MSU and UofM, their indian culture shows always have some hiphop dance in it. at MSU it was called Hindi Hiphop (horrible name i think), and at UofM it was called Bhangra Hiphop.

People in the show hype it up to be a fusion between american and indian dance styles, but it's just hip hop dancing with a bhangra beat in the background with overlayed english rap. it's lame.

It's the same with all south asian DJs. They are expendable DJs that all do the same thing. They play bhangra beats with rap overlayed on it.i

Woah, I have never heard of people trying to fuse bhangra with hip hop.

Why would anyone want to screw up bhangra? That's something that's pretty cool on its own. At least, it's pretty funny.

yeah, i agree. Bhangra is tight, and appeals to younger generations as well. Unlike some of the slower dances which people may find boring.

It's just south asians trying to claim south asian-american identity, they are south asian yet they lilve in america, i would guess that wouldl be a motivation. It is not a bad idea either, but they never fuse them, they just do hiphop. Also, hiphop is what everyone wants to do, and it attracts more people who are not south asian.

It seemed to me like an excuse for people to show off. (I'm talking in general, not just about south asian)
