approval

wud u pursue sumtin u wanted even if ur family (esp parents) or frenz didn't approve?

yea .. i mean i know i should respect what they want .. only because they think they know what is best for me ...

but why can't i choose to go for the things that i want in life just because they dont approve .. thats kind of unfair .. but i'll just have to do what i think is best ...

my mom always told me never to date ( mexicans or african americans or guys with shaved heads ) ... but i dated an african american AND a guy with a shaved head .. haha .. i knew she was screaming inside when i brought them home -___- oh well.

It all depends on what it was they didnt approve of...well if I feel strongly about something they dont..oh well I am my own person..and ya my mom always says stuff like u cant date african americans or mexicans and I was like honestly I dont care wat u think mom color doesnt matter when it comes to dating and love and stuff..no matter what the color if i love them I will marry them if I like them I will go out with them

i don think id do much things if my parents and/or friends didnt approve of. my parents never talked to me about datin so i don know wat they care and wat not. but really, i don go against either

I've done a couple of things that my parents nor my friends did not approve about but it was what made me happy and a better person in the long run.

I've always been a risk taker and that's the exact opposite of what my parents are so u can just imagine the stuff that we bashed heads on..hehehehe

i don't really go against what my parents disapprove of. occasionally i'll do something like that, but nothing drastic.

heh sorri i'll reply now. well, basically i know my parents love me and want the best for me, but sometimes i juss feel like a puppet and that i'm not doing what I want to do. i wanted to be a doctor, but they say that job is too hard for a woman and they want me to be a biochemist or pharmacist or sumtin to do with finance. those jobs are nice, but i'd rather be taking action and actually HELPING pplz, u noe? not just backstage doin research. and keeping track of money gets boring, i think. actualli, i dun even wanna be a doctor - if i could choose, i'd be a singer or author or actress. but of course thaz never gonna happen and i know that if i pursued that they prolli wudn't support me anyway.

and as far as marrying and dating and stuff goes, they want me to marry a chinese guy. that duzn't bother me cuz i kinda wanna marry a chinese guy too, cuz that wud make things sooo much easier for everyone. but, if i find someone i truly love, age, color, religion, etc wudnt matter at all.

yah... if it means as a career that is... i couldn't see myself doing something that i didn't like to do as work... just to please my parents i couldn't take up a life's work that didn't make me happy...

As of right now, I'd have to say yes, I wouldn't pursue something if my parents didn't approve of it unless I really really feel like it's what I want...

I mean, don't you think parents do it for the best?
