Budget Cuts

Our school district is planning to cut the budget of our music programs and art programs. Kids who play and want to play instruments starting in fourth grade will no longer be able too... This will put at least 400 kids who play instruments already in elemantary school out of the program. Students wont be able to play an instrument until they enter their first year of middle school (6 th grade). Art programs will also be cut... Usually our disticts middle school puts on a play every year, but if the budget gets cut, they won't be able to put on anymore plays. In addition to arts and music, sports programs are being cut slowly. Usually the schools would purchass team cloths for athletes, but this year they stopped due to "Budget" problems. It turns out in order to close the budget gap, the district must come up with 1.6 million dollars by next year. >__<;;;

Everyone is making such a big deal out of this, just add $18 2 ur taxes and thats it, we won't have a budget problem, the only reason they r getting rid of Art and Music is because kids aren't required 2 take them in new york state, yes i still want these programs, yes i enjoy them, but everyone should just face it, blame ur parents.. they're the ones who didn't accept the bond...

no, blame senior citizens cause they voted against the bond... they didn't see anypoint in voting for it cause it wasn't going to help them get anything in return. But they don't realize what they're doing to the kids. They also voted against it because a large majority of seniors can't afford to pay the extra 18$.

wow, i thought it was only california who was having budget problems. yeah, a school district in the bay area recently decided to cut out all sports programs, close its libraries, and lay off 10% of its staff for next year. scary, because a lot of other districts might have to do the same. hope everything works out for your school.

arnold blast promised wouldn't reaise taxes don't want to tax rich cause they support him, so he's taxing school. (well thats my idea of it :D) my friend said her rich aunty told him rich people feel that lower and middle class don't work as hard thats why they arn't rich so, why should rich people be taxed because they worked hard and became successful?

But the thing is, despite the fact that they're cutting programs, they're still raising the taxes.
