Calculators

What kind of calculators do you use?

Offer tips on using calculators for people who are too lazy to read the instructions.

tips on calcs? i got 89.....
buy a ti-89......it does almost every single thing imaginable that ur normal person would ever need up thru calc.....it solves equations, factors about anything, expands about anything, symbolic manipulation, faster n higher res graphs then the 83 versions, unit conversion, a lot of flash rom space, pretty cool games, find derivatives, 3d graphin, text editor (great for typin notes straight into calc.....hehehe), a crapload of stuff i forget about, dont use, or have no idea to use....
i sound lyke a sales rep....lol...oh, and best of all, u can use it on the sat......cant use anything better than 89, such as 92, 92+, n voyager...

got a ti-83+, i wanna get a ti-86 cause they can do imaginary numbers, and factor and solve equations and such. I'd want to get a ti-89, but they don't allow them on the IB tests.

I have a TI-86... It saved me a couple times on my Linear Algebra tests with the eigenvalues and matricies... I'm hearing good things about the hewlett pakard ones though, oh and ti-89 would be nice...

3d Graphs.... i need that... for my multivariable calculus course

I have a Ti-83+ but I still solve stuff without it except when I'm lazy or pressed for time. I'm glad our math teacher teaches concepts of what we're doing without a calculator first.

Quick, someone WITHOUT a calculator do e^5 for me.
Exactly.
e and like are very necessary in maths, I can't see how you do without them. Unless you leave them in e^x form, but then when applying how does that give you an answer you can determine to be reasonable?
I use an 83 non-plus btw. It's slow as crap but whatever, I think it's the batteries
