Just a thought...

this is just a thought, but why is it that when we are at our lowest...both emotionally and physically, we come up with the most intriguing and odd stuff? I don't know, just wanted to throw this out to everybody to see if its only me. just a thought..

Thinking gets us energized. Your probably think of things since you're not intensely preoccupied with other pursuits. It's a way to emotionally stimulate you. It could also be looked at as a form of venting.

I have no idea if I in any way addressed your question, but I hope what I said meant something.

yea i knoe what you mean. maybe because when one is emotionally and physically low in level, they are not their true self, so they tend to come up with things they would most likely have not been able to come up with when that person was in their content..maybe even normal state of mind emotionally and physically. make sense?

i disagree with the whole first post. It's not true, and especially not inherently true for everyone. "We" doesn't include me and that's a counterexample, cause i don't htink i think of the most intriguing thoughts when i'm sad or whatever. I think the question is "why not?" you think a lot when you are at your lowest probably, so why wont' thoughts come out that are intriguing sometimes?

-edit- this isn't in a mean tone, i don't mean to come off that way i'm just in a hurry and am typing this fast and am just saying what i think really fast.

It's also a question too.

well... i think you over analyze the whole thing... its just a generalization, he/she sees the media and many poets and such write their best material during emotional highs and lows... so he/she probably came to that conclusion from the information and experiences that they themselves have encountered...

i myself have written good stuff while in depression and jubiliation... you get inspiration from the emotions your feeling and the things that have caused those emotions in my opinion...

i don't think i'm over analyzing,...yes, it IS a generalization. And most generalizations have counterpoints, which i pointed out. This actually reminds me of one of our possible essay topics that we could write about for our IB Theory of Knowledge class, the question is:

"We are more likely to be mistaken in our generalizations than in our particular observations. Do you agree"

Yes, i agree, didn't write an essay on it though hehe.
