life in america
share your experiences moving to america...
moved to america from singapore when i was 4.... i first lived in a ghetto area of pasadena, CA cuz we didnt have much $. i remember going to school and i saw black people for the first time in my life. and i became friends wit this black girl. she was madd cool. moved back to singapore when i was 6. then moved back to cali when i was 7. this time i lived in arcadia, CA. went to school wit chinese being the majorities and white people the minorities. i liked school back then. moved to connecticut when i was 10. miserable as heckk!! i was the only chinese person in my class!! majority of the people were jews. they looked down on me and made fun of me. when i reached middle school, it was a little better. now in high school, its become more diversed. its alrite now. but i still miss cali.....

erm, I was born in America... yes I don't have real asian blood
buh uhm, I don't remember much actually... I lived in the midwest all my life... lived in Oskaloosa(sp?) MI when I was younger... then moved to La Crosse and lived there until 2nd grade... I had a lot of cool friends! Then, moved to Holmen where there were NO asians at all... and I've been living here since...
I need a feel for big cities... I can't stand being trapped here I feel like I need to be revealed to the open... I need to know what it's like because I feel so deprived sometimes when people talk about things and I don't know what they're talking about...
came here during the 1988 seoul olympics..we were suppose to come to the states earlier..but my parents had trouble getting their visas..but when we finally arrived..we came with 300 bucks..that's it..went to abliene, tx lived their with my sister and my cousins while my parents were trying to find jobs in dallas,tx.. they came back 5-6 months later..we left together went to dallas and lived in a apartment on royal lane (to those who lives pretty close around the dallas area..yall should know this place.. everyone does.. ^_^)lived there until i was in second grade..moved to irving,texas..to another apartment..stayed there until my freshman year in high school..then finally moved into a house..yay..but that's about it..about moving from location to location..i guess went to mississippi for business..got screwed there..so im now here..in great ol arkansas..how fucking great...

i came to america when i was about 3 years old. i've seen pictures and heard stories about how i held my mom's hand in the airport n stuff, but i don't remember anything.
to get a green card, my dad had to be single at that time. so he pushed back the marriage date and therefore, my birthdate a year back. because of this STUPID date on my greencard and passport, i can't get my damned drivers permit.
he got it, a couple months later me and my mom came to NY. lived there for a couple months, then moved to virginia where my aunt and uncle lived.
